A new body of work, still very much about the language of landscape, but involving less conventional painting solutions. Although traditional methods of painterly application are employed, the architecture of these acrylic paintings have much to do with printmaking and digital imaging as the process also involves stenciling, masking, layering,image transfers,dot sructures....... Along with digital and printmaking process these paintings are influenced by design movements I grew up with, notably the 'Memphis' aesthetic of the 80's and the 'psycedelic' vision of the 60's. |
